He is a Registered Architect in both New Zealand and the United Kingdom, with 30 years of experience in urban design, architecture, and interior design. In addition to overseeing projects across New Zealand, Evžen has worked in Bern, Switzerland, and London, England. He possesses particular skills in design and design management.
Throughout his career, Evžen has led numerous influential projects across Aotearoa, including the He Tohu Exhibition in Wellington, Aratoi Museum of Art and History in Masterton, and various significant works at Auckland’s Museum of Transport and Technology (MOTAT). He also led the design of the widely acclaimed Nelson Airport Terminal, recognised for its innovative use of engineered timber and environmentally responsive design.
In recent years, Evžen has leveraged his expertise in timber technology through groundbreaking projects such as Air New Zealand’s Hangar 4 and the Palmerston North Airport Terminal.
Evžen served as Studio Pacific’s Managing Director from 2020 until December 2023, guiding the practice through a period of significant growth, strategic evolution, and enhanced governance. He stepped down as an Executive Director in March 2025, transitioning into a focused leadership role dedicated to sustainability initiatives within the studio. In this role, Evžen continues to champion environmentally responsible design, aligning Studio Pacific’s projects and processes with best practices for a sustainable future.
In recognition of his substantial contributions to the profession, Evžen was named a Fellow of Te Kāhui Whaihanga New Zealand Institute of Architects in 2024.
