Founding Director

Te Whanganui-a-Tara Wellington

Evžen has been a Director of Studio Pacific Architecture since the company’s founding in 1992.

He is a Registered Architect in both New Zealand and the United Kingdom, with 30 years of experience in urban design, architecture, and interior design. In addition to overseeing projects across New Zealand, Evžen has worked in Bern, Switzerland, and London, England. He possesses particular skills in design and design management.

Evžen has been the director in charge of a range of community and educational projects, including the New Zealand Memorial in Canberra, the Aratoi Museum of Art and History in Masterton, various projects at the Museum of Transport and Technology (MOTAT) in Auckland, and several buildings at Massey University’s campus in Palmerston North. His involvement in community projects has given him a key understanding of the importance of stakeholder input, consultation, and optimising architectural solutions where budget is often critical.

Evžen has had a longstanding interest in Environmentally Sustainable Design (ESD) and has been instrumental in moving ESD from a fringe activity into the mainstream of construction thinking. He has a deep understanding of low-carbon building solutions and specialist knowledge of engineered timber solutions across various project types.
