Michael Lowe

He has been instrumental in some of New Zealand’s most significant housing regeneration projects, including Tāmaki Regeneration and Eastern Porirua Regeneration. At Studio Pacific, Michael spearheaded the long-term spatial planning for these areas, demonstrating his expertise in large-scale projects. His ability to guide clients through the complex process from strategic development to design review and delivery is invaluable.

Michael is well-versed in best practice design, offering high-quality urban design advice, design reviews, visioning, master planning, and design guidance. His strong public engagement skills have enabled him to work effectively with communities and organisations to navigate change.

In his role at Studio Pacific, Michael has contributed significantly to our urban design projects, including Kāinga Ora Strategic Masterplans and Design Guidelines, various council growth strategies, and Studio Pacific's 'International Better Practice Literature Review'. He actively participates in the design community, making submissions on critical local government issues such as growth, waste minimisation, and transport.

Within our studio, Michael is not only the Tāmaki Makaurau Studio Lead but also an advisor on urban design, medium-density housing, design processes, and policy. His creative fine arts background is a valuable asset for 'blue-sky' strategic thinking at Studio Pacific.
